Diego Lanao

Diego Lanao is a writer and comedian who has studied playwriting under Julie McKee and Eduardo Machado at HB Studio, sketch writing and improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade, and TV Story Structure with Eric Linus Kaplan. Born in New York and raised as a Peruvian in the U.S., he is a strong advocate for diverse storytelling and socio-economic awareness.

He has always wanted to pursue screenwriting and acting, but made a short detour through completing his pre-med and computer science studies at NYU. When he's not working his day job as a media analyst, he enjoys learning new languages, composing music, and keeping up with Peru's national soccer team.
