About The Grant
The SUSTAIN Wellbeing Coordinating Center, in partnership with the Collective for Community Action and FLAS, is hosting a free, one-day workshop designed specifically for Latinx Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Houston. This workshop aims to foster connection, solidarity, and shared learning among CHWs through culturally grounded and healing-centered strategies to support the wellness of Latinx individuals and communities. The workshop will also address the impact of systemic oppression on the health of Latinx communities.
In light of the increasing challenges faced by Community Health Workers, including funding cuts and shifting political landscapes, the workshop is pivotal for providing support and resources. Participants will engage in dynamic activities such as group discussions and role-playing to enhance their relationship-building, decision-making, and communication skills in their daily work. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided for all selected participants throughout this enriching experience.
