More than 100 women-led businesses from across the U.S. and Latin America won a year of WeWork workspace for their teams plus mentorship and networking opportunities through WeWork’s partnership with SoftBank, WeWork announced.

Ten of the winners are from the Miami area.

It’s the culmination of WeWork’s Women For Tomorrow initiative that will in total provide the selected women-led businesses with up to $5 million worth of workspace and mentorship. Recognizing the disproportionate impact that the pandemic had on women in the workforce, WeWork launched the contest on International Women’s Day.

The Miami-area winners are:

Let’s meet a few of them.

“Musicasa is a live music community marketplace connecting undiscovered LatinX musicians with music lovers through intimate home concerts for up to 40 people,” said Beatriz Ayala, founder and CEO of Musicasa, She moved to Miami from Palo Alto last summer and is building the company here. Musicasa has launched the experience, producing 122 concerts last year (Musicasa also hosted the closing concert of Miami Tech Week). It’s now developing the  platform and raising a seed round. The company will use the “amazing” WeWork All Access prize to network and immerse in the community as well as provide its team with a physical office.

Veta Health deploys solutions that enable remote care with the aim of improving health outcomes for chronically ill patients, and it does this by accompanying patients nonintrusively and personalizing their care experiences, says Tanvi V. Abbhi, who co-founded the startup with Dr. Nora Zetsche. Veta Health is a distributed team around the world so the WeWork All Access will be quite useful, said Abbhi, who is based in Miami along with some members of the clinical team. Veta has launched in several markets but Abbhi hopes to soon add South Florida, the state’s largest Medicare market and a healthcare hub, Abbhi said. “I am personally excited and passionate about being part of the Miami tech growth story.”

Mango Soft is a cloud software company that provides low-code, easy to deploy data management solutions to companies that have big data needs and can’t rely on legacy cloud providers. “At Mango Soft, we believe women’s contributions in the tech industry are key — it provides cohesiveness, increases diligence in problem-solving and improves corporate social responsibility. It is an honor to be part of the Women For Tomorrow Initiative with WeWork and Softbank, as the initiative empowers talented women to keep contributing to smart technology, innovation and a balanced future workforce,” said co-founder Marta Visbal as part of the announcement.

Each of the winners received WeWork All Access memberships for up to 10 employees for one year, providing access to hundreds of WeWork locations in the Miami area and around the world. The winners will also have access to advice and networking opportunities with SoftBank’s specialists to help their businesses navigate challenges and grow successfully. WeWork partnered with the Women’s Global Empowerment Fund, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting women through economic and social programs, to identify and select businesses that are focused on driving equality.

“Across the globe, women in the workforce were disproportionately affected by the pandemic. We’re proud to provide these women-led businesses with solutions that offer the utmost in flexibility so that they can focus on their shared commitment to shaping a more equal future,” said Lauren Fritts, WeWork’s Chief Communications Officer.
